Yesterday (Sunday 18th July) saw the presentation of the "Inver Stone" to Braemar Royal Highland Society.
Weighing in at around 260lbs, the stone is thought to date back at least 300 years and a new plaque was unveiled.
We are grateful to Gordon Richard and his family and to the late June and Jimmy Richard. June welcomed weightlifters from all over the world to her garden at the Inver to lift the stone, and yesterday a number of enthusiasts gave us a demonstration of their prowess.
The Stone will be kept at the Games Centre, and hopefully be lifted by many more in the future.
Thank you Gordon and all the Richard family.
