PIPE BANDS: Convener Mr Dave Torrance, BRHS Trustee

 

The Massed Pipe Bands at the Braemar Gathering are an iconic part of our event, and renowned internationally.  Over the years we have seen bands come from across the globe to take part in this great spectacle.

 

From 9am and throughout the day, individual bands will march from the Invercauld Hotel through the village to the Games Park. There, they will play in the main Arena and also outside the the Overseas Visitors Tent.  The Bands compete for the Shield which is presented by our Patron. Last years winners were 4 Scots Pipes and Drums.

 

The Massed Bands parade at 12 noon and again at 3pm and 4pm, marching through the village to the Games park before noon and returning to the Invercauld Hotel after 4pm. 12 Bands are invited annually to take part in this event and in the Pipe Band competition, entry is by invitation only.  If you wish your band to be considered please contact the Gathering Secretary at - secretary@braemargathering.org
